NECAT prohibits direct sales, endorsements, and financial "asks."
Instead, focus on providing information and encouraging further exploration without making value judgments or soliciting. Here are examples of what is allowed versus what isn’t.
1. Product or Service Mentions
Allowed:
"You can learn more about this product at [website or contact info]."
"For more information about [product/service], visit [XYZ.org]."
"To see the complete range of our products, head to [website]."
Not Allowed:
"Buy this product now at [website]!"
"This is the best product for your needs—order today!"
"Get 20% off if you purchase now!"
Example Situation:
Guest wants to mention a product they created

By focusing on informative and neutral language rather than persuasive or promotional language, you’ll be fully compliant with NECAT guidelines while still providing viewers with the information they need. This guide can help ensure everyone on set uses consistent and appropriate phrasing.
